Car offered at:
mailchi.mp/jaguarclassic/for-sale-ss-100-25-litre

Seller's description:
Our car on offer is an early SS Jaguar 100. One of the first series with chassis number prefix 18. These cars have, for example, a slimmer steering column, a hand choke, a simpler radiator, and other minor distinguishing features to the 49 and 39 prefixes.

The SS Jaguar 100 with the chassis number 18089 was on April 22, 1937 delivered to the owner of the F. E. Birkby plastics factory in Liversedge, Yorkshire. 1970 commercialized in Ohio USA Purchased in 1979 by Gary Rorbach, Largo, Florida Restored in the UK and marketed with the number RGO 763 Y. Purchased by Robert Holmes of Perth AUS in 1982 (mentioned and illustrated in the book by Terry McGrath, "SS in the Southern Hemisphere" in 18089). 1997 Robert Holmes dies 2001 Terry Larson delivers the SS 100 to the RM Auction in Phoenix 2001 Jürg Kohler acquires 18089.

Since then he has been technically/mechanically kept in good shape. Participation in Klausen Race, Silvretta Classic, GP Bern and Mille Miglia.

Optically, the car sympathetically patinated, the restoration is already back decades. Technically, the car is in good shape. Chassis and engine number are matching. At the top of the engine block is the lesser-known but very important, - with the correct punches struck - to read SS100.

The headlights are of course correct QK's and still original, no replicas. As an active rally car, this fast classic is equipped with a rare Halda Twinmaster with metal housing. For longer journeys more ergonomic seat cushions are included. Although these are covered in fabric, they can be changed within seconds.

We offer this matching number SS100 2.5 liter for Fr. 365'000 .-- and it can be viewed at any time in the Old Mill.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
