To be auctiones on Aug. 2014 at:

At least the exh. manifold and engine block seem to be correct for a 1936/1937 car. Looks nice, but many details could use some attention.

More info from above auction:
Lot # 244 1937 SS Jaguar 100 2 1/2 Liter Roadster; S/N 18114; Engine # 252590; Gunmetal/Red leather; Black cloth top; Estimate $500,000 - $575,000; Older restoration, 3+ condition; Hammered Sold at $440,000 plus commission of 10.00%; Final Price $484,000 - 2663/102hp, dual SU carbs, 4-speed, chrome knock-off wire wheels, dual mirrors, Lucas King of the Road headlamps with stone guards, single Lucas King of the Road driving light, rear-mounted spare wheel, black cloth tonneau cover, Daytona digital temperature gauge. - Worn leather straps for tonneau cover. Lightly used but clean engine bay and undercarriage. Lightly worn seats. Excellent paint. Very good chrome. Restored in the 1970s, but repainted in its present Gunmetal in 2002. First owner was journalist Laurence E.W. Pomeroy. Malaysian vintage racing history. CCCA Senior award holder. - Handsomely presented in a color that emphasizes the beautiful lines of the SS100. Its 2 1/2 liter engine will make it a little harder to enjoy on the road, but that is recognized in the price it brought, as is the age of its restoration. It's half the price of the 3 1/2 Liter SS100 sold here yesterday. That one was in better condition, but still, it's an expensive liter of displacement.

Car now offered at:
www.autosportdesigns.com/inventory/images/1175/jaguar-ss-100-roadster-1937

Sellers description:
This 1937 SS 100 Jaguar 2½-Litre Roadster is documented by its original sales ledger, sold initially by Layham's Engineering Company, Surrey, England, to motoring journalist, Lawrence E.W. Pomeroy. In 1953, the car was acquired from Mercury Motors, of Wembley, by Harry Wolfe. Accompanying photographs on file are believed to date from Wolfe's ownership. In 1958, this SS 100 then passed to Leslie Worley, of Sussex, who moved with the car to Malaysia. In his new home, Worley became an active vintage racer, eventually achieving the rank of president in the Malaysian Vintage Racing Club. His SS 100 was driven in an MSCC sprint in Kuala Lumpur as noted in Terry McGrath's, The Forerunners of Jaguar, as well as in many Malaysian motoring publications of the era.

The SS 100 Roadster then returned to the UK in the 1970s and was restored while in the ownership of Richard Smith, which was finished in black paint. In this appearance, it was again sold around 1984, to American enthusiast Norb Schaefer.

Mr. Schaefer repeatedly showed his SS 100 with Classic Car Club of America Full Classics and found time to earn its CCCA Senior award between races at Elkhart Lake.

In 2002, the car was sold to a Japanese owner and the timeline where the SS 100 gained its new Gunmetal paint. It was a regular concours entrant in Japan, where it remained until recently. Having been in the ownership of the resident of the Jaguar & Daimler Owners Club of Japan, this SS 100 is well known. It is pictured in the SS 100 Registry taking part in the first Jaguar Day celebration near Tokyo in 2003.

This SS 100 Roadster remains in concours condition in its wonderful, period-correct Gunmetal with Red leather appearance. It is complete with its extensive history file and various period photos that accompany the car.

This exciting SS 100 is a thrill to drive, it is ready for immediate use and eligible for some of the world's finest touring events and to carry on a heritage of competition that it has carried for nearly 80 years.

Lot Number 127
1937 SS 100 Jaguar 2½-Litre Roadster
$400,000 - $500,000
Chassis No. 18114
Engine No. 252590

Originally delivered to the British motoring journalist Laurence E.W. Pomeroy
Extensive, well-known Malaysian racing history
Formerly owned by a president of the Japanese Jaguar Club
Numerous concours appearances; Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) Senior winner

This dashing SS 100 2½-Litre Roadster is documented by its original sales ledger as having been sold by Layham's Engineering Company, of Surrey, England, to Lawrence E.W. Pomeroy, the technical editor of the famous motoring magazine, The Motor, for 22 years.

In 1953 the car was acquired from Mercury Motors, of Wembley, by Harry Wolfe. In 1958, the SS 100 then passed to Leslie Worley, of Sussex, who moved with the car to Malaysia. In his new home, Worley became an active vintage racer, eventually achieving the rank of president in the Malaysian Vintage Racing Club. His SS 100 was driven in anger for two decades, as noted in Terry McGrath's The Forerunners of Jaguar and in many period Malaysian motoring publications.

The roadster returned to the United Kingdom in the 1970s and was restored while in the ownership of Richard Smith. It was then sold, sometime around 1984, to American enthusiast Norb Schaefer. Mr. Schaefer's car found time to earn its CCCA Senior award between races at Elkhart Lake. In 2002, the car was sold to a Japanese owner. It remained overseas until 2014, and following a change of color to the present Gunmetal, it was a regular concours entrant in Japan, including when owned by a president of the Jaguar & Daimler Owners Club of Japan.

The car remains in concours condition, with a well-preserved restoration in colors that have a wonderful, period-correct appearance, red leather upholstery, and a black soft top. Chrome wire wheels, a rear-mounted spare, and the combination of both a full windshield and Brooklands racing screens give it the look that is appropriate of a proper British sporting car. An extensive history file accompanies the car.

This exciting SS 100 is a thrill to drive, just as it was on Malaysian roads half a century ago, and it is ready for a new owner to "see what she can do."
