Ad reads:
"This car is Chassis No. 247433; Engine No. 247268; Its original registration No. is JV 2615.
IT IS ONE OF 1,099 CARS BUILT AND WITHIN THE JAGUAR WORLD THERE ARE THOUGHT TO BE LESS THAN 50 SURVIVING EXAMPLES.
The car was first registered in Lincolnshire, England. It was brought to the United States in November of 1980 by a doctor in Texas who subsequently donated the car to the San Antonio Museum of Transportation where it was displayed for the next 15 years. It was purchased by the current owner in November 1995.
In June of 1996, Ken James, of KJ Jags completed a total frame off restoration of the car. Great care was taken to restore the car to its original condition. However, during the restoration the original transmission was deemed not rebuildable and the car was fitted with a four speed (per the original) transmission from an XK 120 Jaguar. The car was also fitted with an SU carburetor at the time of restoration to improve drivability but the original cast Zenith 36UH 0305 carburetor is included with the car.
LONG AND LOW, GRACEFUL AND SLEEK, WITH EXCELLENT PEDIGREE AND MANNERS, THIS CAR IS A TRUE PIECE OF AUTOMOTIVE HISTORY AND ART FOR SALE FOR THE PRICE OF $ 97,500.00 (USD). PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR FURTHER INFORMATION AND DETAILS. THANK YOU.
