A 2018 article on the car at:
www.hemmings.com/stories/article/the-looker-1935-jaguar-ss-90
Section of the article:
Our feature car, chassis 249482, was delivered essentially as Lyons was on his way back from Blackpool, on July 3, 1935, and the new owner obtained registration and license number BUF 695 on July 22. It has kept that ever since, although despite research, Rufus knows little about its pre-war history. After the war, it was used extensively in hillclimbs in England, then taken off the road in the late 1950s. The third owner, Brian Smith, dismantled it for restoration, and it was still apart when Rufus bought it in 1994. He finally had it completed in 2008 by SS specialists Davenport Cars, Ltd., and brought it to the U.S. in July 2008. In JCNA concours events, Rufus wins Best of Show approximately 50 percent of the time, and in his last outing with the car recorded a perfect 100-point score.
